Employment in Malaysia is too limited. Perception of people, student and private sector that said if you graduate with certain of courses then you can only work in that area only. But this is not true due to in abroad such as United Kingdom, United States their graduates can work in any field.
Why this happen? The question should be asked to the Minister of Higher Education and ourselves. We do not educate ourselves when at the university the purpose is to learn as much as you can. We focus in our course subject rather think as whole. When I been elected as Student Representative, i had asked our University to be more liberal like US. The student should be given more choices to choose the subject they would like to learn rather than we specific the subject.
As example law student suppose can take psychology, economics or international affairs rather than they learn law subject only. We must know and aware University is a place where we explore student ability and capability as much as we can. If university do not give space for liberalisation in our academic field, then who will give them this opportunity???
